In order for us to provide you with an estimate, we would just require the full width and height of each section needed. For example Wall 1: 3000mm x 500mm Wall 2: 2000mm x 500mm etc. We also need to know if there are any shaped panels involved. Like shaping the glass to match the curve to your extractor, or cutting around a window area. Finally, if you can also state the total amount of cut outs required for plug sockets, this will help us provide you with a more accurate costing.
Do we survey, supply and install?
Yes, we offer a fully inclusive service, which includes a digitally taken survey, to ensure the best possible accuracy upon install. We then come back to site, where one of our experienced installers will fit the panels for you. However, if your preference is the carry out the work on a supply only basis, we can also just offer the glass and all fixing materials required to do the installation.
What thickness are glass splashbacks?
Predominantly, our glass splashbacks are produced in 6mm glass. However we can also offer a range of different thicknesses’ to suit any requirement, with 4mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm and 19mm also all readily available.
What type of glass is used?
We use a glass called Diamant Low Iron. We produce our splashbacks in this material as it gives the highest possible clarity and truest representation of the actual colour required on the glass.
How long do I have to wait?
On supply only splashbacks, we offer a lead time of approx 2 working weeks from the date of order. For our full survey and install service, we look at surveying your job within the week of a confirmed order, with the installation process approx 3 weeks following that. We understand however, that some projects are time restricted and so if you need a quick turnaround, we will work with you to achieve the date required.
Can we get samples from you?
Yes, the samples we produce are 200mm x 200mm. These are an exact replica of the final splashback you would receive and, with being such a good size, give a true representation of the colour required on glass. Upon order, you are entitled to 1no sample, free of charge. Samples after this or before an initial order are at a cost of £25 each including VAT.
What colours do you have and where can we see these?
We will match to any paint colour from any range at all. So there are near endless possibilities from which you can choose. So if its Dulux, Crown, Farrow & Ball, Sanderson, Little Green… or even a small paint sample you toke away from your local shop, we can look at matching this for you! Alternatively, we also have RAL, BS and Pantone colour charts on our website, from which you can also choose from.
Is the glass and installation guaranteed?
Yes, we offer a full 10 year guarantee against any discolouration or delamination of the product. With a full 12 month guarantee for the installation.
Can the glass be shaped?
Due to our digital survey, we can offer the most obscure and difficult shapes that would be almost impossible to re-create from a standard survey, using a tape or template. Coupled with our state of the art cutting machines, there is very little we would not be able to achieve. Due to toughening processes however, this can sometimes dictate what is possible and there are occasionally slight variances that we have to work around to achieve finished piece.
Can we have holes and cut outs in the glass?
This is easily achievable using our machinery and cutting out for electrical sockets / notching out for downlights etc is no problem at all.
Will the glass be heat resistant and safe?
All splashbacks near a heat source should be toughened and will then resist any heat up to 400 degrees C. We feel it is also good practise to toughen any panels with cut outs in, to reduce the chance of any breakages when screwing back on socket plates.
Does my wall need to be perfectly flat?
Most walls are never perfectly flat… however this is fine. The adhesive we supply can be used to fill out any imperfections. However, upon survey, our surveyor will state if anything would need to be done to the walls prior to the install. Such as having them sealed with a PVA or emulsion to stop the adhesive being absorbed when installed.
What sizes can we produce?
As a standard, we can produce panels up to total length of 3630mm with a height of 2550mm. However, we can also offer an option where, cutting from a jumbo sheet of low iron glass, we can produce panels up to 6000mm x 3210mm.
What is Ritec Clearshield?
This is an antibacterial, polymer costing, which we are fully qualified and certified sprayers of. Its main attributes are that it makes the glass much easier to clean, it maintains your splashbacks original ‘just installed’ appearance and in having this applied, reduces any bacteria build up that can occur around the kitchen.
Why do you mix your own paints in house?
In doing so, we can offer the biggest range of colours, from the most unique colour references out there. Many paints around, that are applied to glass have just been adapted to suit, from other industries. Our paint is specifically designed for use solely on glass and gives a much higher opacity level and better clarity of finish.
Can we visit you?
Yes, we always welcome you to come and visit us. We have a trade counter which is open from Monday – Saturday, 9am – 1pm. And afternoons and evenings by appointment.
